CRIDCOM is a state government agency established to engage, coordinate, and foster a mutually beneficial relationship between Cross River State and its diaspora community worldwide.

Our core mission is to harness the potential of Cross Riverians in the diaspora for the accelerated socio-economic growth, development, and investment in their home state, while also addressing diaspora-related issues.

CRIDCOM was inaugurated in May 2024, and the bill establishing the Commission was subsequently signed into law by His Excellency, Governor Bassey Edet Otu.

Yes, CRIDCOM aims to provide a framework to facilitate investment opportunities and streamline processes for diaspora investors, working in synergy with relevant state ministries and agencies.

The Cross River State Diaspora Summit is a major event that brings together Cross Riverians globally and local stakeholders to discuss strategies, showcase opportunities, and foster collaborative development projects.

CRIDCOM works in collaboration with partners like the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Nigeria Immigration Service to promote legal emigration, educate the public on proper travel channels, and address migration challenges from the grassroots.

CRIDCOM is actively partnering with agencies like the Immigration Service to strengthen counter-trafficking efforts, educate communities on risks associated with irregular migration, and advocate for legal channels to reduce vulnerability.

While CRIDCOM’s primary focus is engagement and development, it works to foster unity and can guide Cross Riverians abroad to relevant support channels where possible, especially concerning legal emigration and proper documentation.

CRIDCOM actively seeks synergy and collaboration with various state ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs), such as the State Budget Office and the Ministry of Power and Renewable Energy, to ensure a coordinated approach to development.
