The Cross River State Diaspora Commission (CRIDCOM) made a significant appearance and impact at the 2025 National Diaspora Day celebration, held on July 25, 2025, at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja. The Commission’s team, led by the Chairman, Prince Otu Okor, Commissioner Ignatius Oli, alongside Local Government Diaspora Focal Point (LGDFP) Officers of Calabar Municipality, Akpabuyo, Ikom, Etung, Ogoja, Bekwarra & Yakurr represented CRIDCOM at the event.
The celebration, themed “Optimising Formidable Diaspora Potentials for National Development and Growth,” brought together over 1,200 physical participants and thousands of virtual attendees from around the world.
Key highlight of the event included was a launch of Diaspora Home and Abroad Platform to provide Nigerians living abroad with safe, reliable, and accessible housing options.

Youth Empowerment Summit: A summit focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) as drivers of development, featuring over 500 students from 14 schools across Abuja.
National Diaspora Merit Awards: Recognizing exceptional Nigerians making a global impact.
CRIDCOM’s participation underscores its commitment to engaging with the diaspora community and promoting the development of Cross River State. The Commission’s efforts align with Governor Bassey Otu’s “People First” agenda and President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope initiative.
By engaging with the diaspora community, CRIDCOM aims to foster partnerships, attract investment, and promote knowledge sharing between Cross River State and its diaspora. The Commission’s presence at the National Diaspora Day celebration highlights its dedication to harnessing the potential of Cross Riverians in the diaspora for the State’s growth and development.
